Product Description
BWT AquaDial Combi-Care Replacement Cartridge
Limescale build-up can significantly reduce central heating system and appliance efficiency. Scale build up of just 1.6mm requires almost 12% extra energy to heat the same amount of water. This extra energy usage translates into more expensive bills. The Combi Care proportionally blends a minute amount of food grade polyphosphate, which is completely safe to drink, into the water - keeping hardness salts in solution. This prevents the formation of limescale.
- Uses a food grade polyphosphate which is completely safe to drink.
- Is approved on health grounds by the Environment Agency and the WRC for the treatment of water for public supply consumption.
- Has a permanent effect on the water once treated, preventing the formation of limescale in your system.

How To Refill CombiGuard
The cartridge must be replaced every 12 months or sooner if the annual usage of water exceeds 120,000 litres. This will ensure optimum protection against limescale. A cartridge change indicator ring is supplied with the unit and it should be set to the same month the unit was installed.
Changing the cartridge:
- Turn off water supply (or isolating valve if fitted).
- Place container under unit to catch any water in the control head.
- Using a flat head screwdriver, release water pressure in the control head by turning pressure relief screw.
- Unscrew the cartridge locking screw.
- Turn cartridge a quarter turn to the left and gently pull downward releasing it from the double ‘O’ Rings seals.
- Remove the indicator ring and place on the new cartridge.
- Remove the red protector cap from the new cartridge and place over the top of the old cartridge to prevent spillage. The old cartridge can be recycled as aluminum at any recycling point.
- Unscrew locking ring and union in control head, clean and tighten inspect ports as necessary. Replace and tighten.
- Insert new cartridge into the bayonet fitting and quarter turn to the right.
- Re-tighten locking screw.
- Re-tighten pressure relief screw.
- Set indicator ring to month of installation.
- Turn on water and test for leaks.
