Product Description

British Berkefeld SS2 Stainless Steel 12 Litre Table Top Filter System - W9361137

The SS2 gravity filter is made from high grade polished stainless steel, and is a portable, robust model which is easy to keep hygienically clean. This system is ideal for locations without direct access to drinking water. The SS2 system is commonly used by campers and in isolated places without water supply. This system has been great for humanitarian aid due to its effectiveness and reliability. The system is also a great addition to your family kitchen and especially to people that find it hard to fit a plumbed in water filter system. The brand and reputation of the product can make it a focal point in the kitchen.

The SS2 model comes standard with the following:

  • Stainless steel unit
  • 2 x British Berkefeld 7" ceramic Ultra Sterasyl
  • Spigot

The SS2 model holds 2.25 gallons / 12 litres of filtered water

OVERALL DIMENSIONS METRIC 600 mm (h) x 300mm (dia) -330mm if you include tap

This system can hold up to 4 ceramic filters.

The British Berkefeld SS2 is easy to use. The water you would like to filter is poured in the top chamber where the ceramic filters are installed. Gravity pushes the water through the filters and clean water is stored in the bottom chamber. If kept topped up, this system can filter approximately 40 litres (8.8 gallons) per 24 hrs with the 2 candles fitted.

The British Berkefeld SS and other gravity fed filter systems are frequently used in humanitarian applications.
Worried about microplastics in your mains water supply? Ceramic filters will remove all micro-plastics larger than 0.5 micron.

How To Assemble A Doulton® Gravity Water Filter | Doulton® Water Filters 04:55

A Doulton® Gravity Filter is a drinking water filter system that can be used on the go where you may have an unreliable water source. Follow the steps in our guide to discover how to assemble a Doulton® Gravity Water Filter: Installing your stainless-steel gravity-fed filter system: 1. Remove the filter and elements from their protective packaging checking each item against the diagram on the instruction leaflet. 2. Separate the filter components and remove the protective packaging. Be mindful that there are additional components at the end of the elements packaging. 3. Fit the knob onto the lid by inserting the screw through the hole in the lid and screwing the knob. Note, you must hand tighten only. 4. Place the sealing washer over the threaded part of the element and place the elements into the hole. 5. In the base of your top section, secure the element in place by screwing the wing nuts onto the nozzle part of the element. If you wish to use more than two elements in your water filter remove the blind rubber grommet and insert the additional elements as you have the previous two. 6. Take the tap and place one washer onto the threaded part of the outlet tap. 7. Insert the thread through the hole in the side of the bottom section. Place the second washer over the thread and secure the tap in place with the nut. 8. To achieve a tighter seal, hold the outlet tab until the nut is hand tight then hold the nut and tighten the assembly by rotating the tap body through at least a quarter turn to reach the upright position. 9. Check that the outer ceiling washer is sealed tight against the surface of the bottom section. 10. Put the top section onto the bottom section and place the lid in position. 11. Ensure that the outlet tap is in the 'OFF' position and remove the lid. 12. Fill the filter's top section with water and replace the lid. We recommend that the first supply of filtered water is thrown away as it may contain loose material washed from the filter elements. How often should you replace a Doulton® ceramic water filter? Due to the filtration of particulate contaminants from the water during use, the flow of the water from a filter may deteriorate over time and the filter cartridge will need to be replaced to restore optimum performance. In most cases, a filter cartridge should be replaced after 6 months of daily use.
